With over 50% new members since restarting after lockdown, and only 6 months of singing together, the new Vocalise again won 5 gold medals at Highbridge Festival of the Arts and were awarded Honours marks.

Student Alice Bingham awarded a distinction in Trinity College London’s ATCL performing diploma.

July 2021

Former student Rosie Sewell graduated with a first class Honours degree in Music from Exeter University.

May 2021 

Former student Hannah Murdoch has won a place at top drama school Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a DaDA scholarship to study a three-year degree in Musical Theatre. Watch out for Hannah in the future!

March 2020

The last time Vocalise sang together before Covid-19 lockdown. We swept the board at Highbridge Festival of the Arts and came away with FIVE gold medals! We’re so looking forward to meeting again in September 2021 in our new home.

May 2019

Our first outing to Weston Festival gave us a clean sweep. We won all three choir classes – all with Honours marks – and the highest mark I have ever seen at a festival – 94 – for our 15 minute Mamma Mia medley. Simply Six and The Octettes each won a class, both with distinction.

March 2019

Success for Vocalise at Highbridge Festival of the Arts – four golds and one silver medal, and the ONLY Honours marks of the whole music event for their rendition of A Handful of Songs and You’ll never walk alone in the unison song class. Simply Six won two gold medals, both with distinction marks, and The Octettes and The Treblemakers each won a silver with distinction and a bronze.

Many congratulations to Ann’s student, Hannah Murdoch, who has won a place on the Intensive 2 year Triple Threat Musical Theatre Course at the Emil Dale Academy in Hertfordshire. Success at her first audition! Well done, Hannah!
